Description

Vitebsk is one of the oldest, and also one of the most beautiful cities of Belarus. By its magnificence it can be safely put together with such beautiful cities as Minsk and Grodno. And every year the popular festival "Slavic Bazaar" is helping Vitebsk to become even more beautiful, because local authorities are always trying to make it better before the festival.

During the tour you will see the area of the Old Town, where buildings of the XVIII-XIX centuries were preserved. There are also numerous sights of Vitebsk, such as the Holy Dormition Cathedral, the Resurrection (Market) Church, the Town Hall, the Governor's Palace, and the Art Center of Marc Chagall.

Besides the Old Town you should see the Summer Amphitheater, which is the main concert venue of the international festival of arts "Slavic Bazaar".

An another pearl of Vitebsk is one of the oldest churches of Belarus – the Annunciation Church. It has greatly suffered during the Soviet era, but was restored in 2006.

In addition to the magnificent architecture, the city of Vitebsk is also famous for its unrivaled creative atmosphere. Here lived and worked such outstanding artists as Marc Chagall, Kazimir Malevich, Yudel Pan. And the famous Russian artist Ilya Repin even bought a mansion near Vitebsk, where he managed to draw inspiration for his works!

During the tour you will visit the Museum House of Marc Chagall, in which a famous worldwide artist grew up. There will be an opportunity to familiarize with the life of the Chagall family, see items belonging to Chagal, documents, photographs, as well as his works.
